Ballina's Idyllic Safe Waterways
Located approximately 600 km north of Sydney and 160 km south of Brisbane, Ballina (population approx 16,000) is a coastal town by the Richmond River which abounds with marine wildlife and provides for recreational fishing and water sports.
This sleepy town is known mostly as the home to the world's largest prawn (made of concrete and fibreglass). Although approved for demolition a decade ago, the prawn now sits on a stand next to the entrance of the Bunnings Warehouse carpark.
Shaw's Hotel and the riverbank offer a great location for the planned Ballina Tri this year.
